SDMA Thanksgiving Update

SDMA Thanksgiving Update
Posted on 11/18/2022

Dear SDMA Families and Staff,

Happy Thanksgiving!  There is much to be thankful for in the School District of the Menomonie Area.  With the holiday season approaching, please take a moment to review these important updates from the SDMA:

  • School Report Cards- All SDMA schools met or exceeded expectations on this year's state report cards, and SDMA students outperformed their peers in the eight Wisconsin school districts that are most similar in size and enrollment demographics. The school board will be reviewing the school report cards that were released this week in greater detail on November 28, but please refer to this press release for more information. Celebrations for the report cards will be held in all SDMA schools throughout the end of the first semester.

  • Highlight on Youth Report- It has been a great month in the SDMA. Please refer to the SDMA November Highlight on Youth Report for some timely examples.

  • District Calendar- As noted on the 2022-2023 SDMA District Calendar, there will be no school during Thanksgiving break (November 23- November 27) and Winter break (December 23-January 1).

  • Winter Schedules: There are many great activities happening in the SDMA. Please refer to schedules on the school district website and posts on the district's Twitter account to keep track of what is happening in our schools. Most events hosted in the MHS gymnasium will be live streamed through the district website.

  • School Closings- In the event that classes need to be cancelled or delayed this winter due to inclement weather, announcements will be made via email, text message, social media, television, and radio. Now would be a good time to be sure that your family's contact information is updated in the Skyward Family Access system. Please contact Morgan Seguin ([email protected]) in the SDMA Tech Department if any assistance is needed with Skyward Family Access.

Good luck and be safe to all deer hunters this weekend!
