*Yesterday, five teams traveled to UW-Eau Claire for the Junior Achievement Titan challenge. Elena Xiong and Olivia Rubenzer got 1st place, and they received a scholarship and qualified for state in May. Oliver Lugo and Eirik Erickson received 4th. Nice job everyone!
*Menomonie High School Drama is proud to present for the final week Disney's Freaky Friday, a new musical filled with comedy and high-energy numbers. Catch the show tonight and Friday at 7:00 and the final show Saturday March 8th at 2:30 PM. Tickets are $5 at the door and student ids and activity passes are accepted, we hope to see you there!
*From now to March 10th, the Pulsera Project will be at our school during A and B lunches.The Pulsera Project is a Fair Trade nonprofit organization that supports artisans & communities in Central America through the sale of their colorful hand-woven bracelets, or “pulseras,” in schools across the U.S. Each pulsera costs only $5 and comes tagged with the photo & signature of the artisan who made it. We look forward to your support of these communities in Guatemala & Nicaragua as we lead our pulsera sale in the coming days!
*Sophomores--New for next year MHS has partnered with the Chamber of Commerce and UW-Stout to offer a community based leadership opportunity. The Youth Menomonie Leadership Program is designed to give high school juniors in the Menomonie Area the opportunity to learn more about their community and further develop the leadership skills necessary to become motivated, active members of their communities while earning a college credit to be applied at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. This would be outside of your regular MHS class schedule. If interested in learning more, see your counselor or Mr. Drake.
*Attention winter sport athletes if your season is complete it’s time to clean out your locker in the locker room to make room for spring sports. During spring break all locker rooms will be closed for cleaning with the disinfecting pressure washer and everything left behind will be donated or thrown away. Make sure when you leave for spring break everything is cleaned out of your locker in the locker rooms.
*What are you up to next Wednesday - Friday, March 12-13-14? I know! Showing off your sick pickleball skills during lunch at the Pickleball-Palooza!! A single-elimination bracket will determine who is the BEST PICKLER at MHS! The entry fee is $10 for your team of 2, and all donations go to the Charity Ball organization, donating clean water and sports opportunities to children across the world. Hand in your cash or venmo to Nolan Bien, Micah Gunderson, Rex Drout, or Señora Taylor by next Monday to secure your spot! Good luck pickleballers!

*Boys basketball is hosting Medford in the Regional Semi Final, tip off at 7:00 doors open for spectators at 6 pm. All tickets are $6 and passes are no longer accepted.
Tomorrow’s Events:
*Good luck to gymnast Izzie Whitwam. She will be competing on the uneven bars at the state competition in Wisconsin Rapids.
*Forensics is traveling to Baldwin
