MHS Announcements - Monday, February 17, 2025 


*This past Saturday the Boys Swim Team competed at the Sectional swim meet in Ashwaubenon.  The boys placed high in every event and earned 7th team overall at the meet.  The top two competitors included Ryan Rood and Thomas Seim, scoring over 70 combined points.  Top 8 finishers included the following: the relay team of Seim, Peyton Gregerson, Rood, and Luke Ray placing 6th in the 200 Medley Relay, Rood placing 8th in the 200 Freestyle, Seim placing 7th in the 100 Butterfly, both Rood placing 6th and Seim placing 8th in the 500 Freestyle, the relay team of Rood, William McKnight, Ray, and Seim placed 8th in the 200 Free Relay, and the relay team of McKnight, Gregerson, Matvey Zazovskiy, and Eirik Erickson placed 8th in the 400 Free Relay.  The biggest drop of the night came from Zazovskiy with dropping over 10 seconds in the 200 Freestyle and over 20 seconds in the 500 Freestyle.  Congrats boys on a great finish to the season!


*Congratulations to the wrestling team on the Individual Regional Championship last Saturday in Hudson which allows the team to move onto team sectionals tomorrow in Hudson. And also to individual wrestlers 120lb Bailey Casey, 126 lb Aidan Aure, 132 lb Easton Anderson, 138 lb Aaron Howard, 157lb  Luke Pember, 165 lb Ray Pember, 175 lb Jake Anderson, 215 lb Ben Helminski and 285 lb Bryce Shepard for securing a win and moving on to the sectional finals at Eau Claire North on Saturday.


*The Freshman and JV2 Boys Basketball teams secured victories Friday night against New Richmond! In a thrilling Varsity matchup, the game came down to the final seconds, but a buzzer-beater gave New Richmond the edge. Great effort by all teams—way to compete!


*The Girls' Basketball team traveled to New Richmond on Friday and varsity brought home a big win! Brooklynn Birt led the way with 26 points and 16 rebounds, while Jordan Ohman added 20 points. The JV team fought hard but came up just short. Great effort by both teams!


*Let's Celebrate National FFA Week next week Feb 16 to 22.  

Students who would like to dress up for National FFA Week tomorrow's dress up day is  PJ Day.  The FFA will be selling DIRT CUPS to students and staff before school on Wednesday Feb 19 and during the lunch periods.  Dirt cups are $2.  Thank you for supporting the FFA Organization and Agricultural Education.

*Interested in Christianity and how it can be lived out?  CRU is the group for you.  Join us Tuesday mornings at 7am in Mr Allenstein's room, 191.  Hope to see you there!

 

*Attention students...are you interested in participating in baseball, boys golf, girls soccer, softball, boys tennis or track?  Plan to attend the spring sports meeting on Monday, March 3rd.  Registration starts at 5:00 to double check that you are registered to participate and have paid the $100 activity fee.   The mandatory parent/athlete code meeting with the athletic director starts at 5:30 followed by coaches meetings at 6:00 pm.  There will be ImPACT testing available starting at 4 pm in room 154.
