MHS Announcements - Tuesday, October 8, 2024 

*The sophomore football team defeated New Richmond 20-14 in a thrilling game. The sophomores are now 4-3 on the season and will play River Falls next week Monday. 

*Reminder to FCCLA members there is a meeting on Wednesday in Room 110- Ms. Krause's room.

*Interested in Saving 3 lives at HOSA's blood drive on the 18th- sign up quick there are only 30 appointment slots available. 

*Attention Science Olympians.  We will have a meeting on Wednesday during study hall in Mrs Weinberger's room (Rm 207).  We will be discussing our first tournament.  Please bring completed forms.

*There will be an informational meeting for anyone interested in joining wrestling this year on Thursday Oct 17 during study hall in the wrestling room.

*A representative from UW-Madison will be in Student Services on Thursday, October 10 at 9:30 am.  Please stop if you would like to visit with the representative from UW-Madison

*Attention sophomores, juniors, and seniors— unsure of what career to pursue. Then the ASVAB career exploration test is for you. ASVAB will be offered on Monday, Oct. 21. There is no cost! Stop by the counseling office to learn more or to sign up.

*Sophomores & Juniors interested in a Healthcare Career, we have an exciting opportunity for you coming up on Tuesday, Oct. 15th, 2024. Students with permission will be visiting the CVTC - Menomonie Campus for their “Healthcare Exploration Day”. You will visit with the current high school cohort and hear about their experience in the Healthcare Academy, meet the instructor, hear about various learning options, tour the campus, the classroom environment you could be a part of next year, participate in a few activities and learn about how you can apply for the Healthcare Academy for next year as early as Nov. 1st.  This is a short trip and students will be gone during periods 6&7. Sign up and grab a permission slip in the Student Services Office by: Thursday, Oct. 10th, 2024. SEATS are limited, so sign up soon!

*Picture retakes will be on Wednesday, October 9th. The photographer will be set up in the Library from 7 to 11:00.  If you haven't gotten a Photo ID, this is the time to do so. 

*Anybody interested in playing baseball: Open gym schedules are available in the front office. If you are interested in playing baseball, please stop in the office and get one

*Attention high school juniors and seniors interested in Manufacturing. On Thursday, Oct. 24th we will be going to MecX, a hands-on career exploration in CVTC’s manufacturing and STEM labs. Students will also go on an industry tour to see classroom skills come to life in real-world manufacturing settings.  Lunch and a special CVTC gift for every attendee is included. Please sign up in guidance or with Mrs. Zydowsky by Thursday, Oct. 10th.
