Menomonie Middle School Announcements

Cross Country:  Despite the heat, Menomonie XC got off to a good start at Eau Claire South on Tuesday.

The girls were able to win the meet on a tiebreaker!  In Cross Country, a tie is broken by the 6th runner... whichever team has the fastest 6th runner wins.  In our case, that was Hailey Sample (12th place)... Great job finishing strong, Hailey! The girls were led by a 2-3-4-10-11 finish from Vienna Paulson, Carmen Schrantz, Veronica Molback, Maya Jochimsen and Maddie Cimino and strong pack running from our whole girls team.

The boys were without a couple runners tonight, but were able to capture third in a close race.  We were led by 6th grader Rory Dunbar with an impressive 13:18 debut,  which put him on the 6th grade record at #16 fastest all time :-).   Karter Livingston and Isaac Cimino finished 9th and 11th, followed by Nate Sol and Brody Salzman.  Our boys racers were a little more strung out in a line. We will work on pacing and developing our groups of runners who can work together to make racing fast easier!

Special congratulations to XC athletes who ran lifetime personal bests tonight, improving over last year:  Carmen Schrantz(13:49),  Bryce Bablick (15:09),  Bryan Householder (16:49), Jack Ruegnitz (17:58),  Karter Livingston (13:26), and Isadora Dorsey (16:57).   That's an amazing accomplishment in this heat, and faster times lie ahead for all our runners in the inevitable cooler fall weather.

WE WILL NOT PRACTICE ON FRIDAY THIS WEEK DUE TO HOMECOMING :-)

Menomonie Transportation Note:  Menomonie Transportation would like to remind all parents/guardians that the BUS STOP is the responsibility of the parents or guardians.  For your child’s safety and protection, all are encouraged to assist at the bus stops to help keep order and to deter any criminal activity.   Neighbor helping neighbor will insure that the bus stop has supervision and our children are safe.  Kindly consider coming to the bus stop for the sake of our children.

Homecoming:  Homecoming is Friday!  Make your plans ahead of time.  If you are riding a different bus after school, you will need to bring a note from your parents to the office Friday morning before school and get a bus pass.  If you are leaving early, you must bring a note from your parents with the time and reason.  Bring the note to the front office before school starts to get a pass.  Texts/emails are not acceptable, you must bring notes.  You will not be allowed to call home during classes to make plans, so be sure you make your plans and talk to your parents before Friday!

Bus Drivers Needed:  Menomonie Transportation needs school bus drivers.   Bus routes for big buses and small buses are both available.  The route minimum for 24-25 is $39.40 for about 90-100 minutes of work.  Drivers are also needed for extra-curricular trips at $14.80 per hour.  Extra-curricular drivers are compensated hourly from the time they leave the bus garage to the time they return.  Coaches and parents are encouraged to apply.   Get paid for driving while you coach or watch your child play!   Please call 715-235-4995 if this interests you.

Homecoming:  Homecoming is next week and to celebrate Student Council will be sponsoring dress up days.

Friday:  Mustang Pride (wear your Mustang clothing)

Word of the Month:  Empathy

Quote of the Week:  Empathy has the power to bring together people who would otherwise never meet.  It has the power to teach us and to reach us in moments of isolation when we think nobody understands. – Vivek Murthy
