YEP: The Youth Empowerment (YEP) is a middle school group that will meet weekly after school on Tuesdays in the health room from 3 – 4:30 starting September 19th. The goal of the group is to provide middle school students with drug prevention programming and opportunities to learn new skills like leadership and public speaking while making a positive impact in their communities. We provide an opportunity for them to have an after-school snack, make new friends, and spend time with old one in a fund and positive environment. YEP members have participated in activities like creating flyers and informative videos, practicing skits to perform for elementary audiences, and enjoyed group trips to Action City and the bowling alley. Where the group goes next depends on suggestions from our members.
