MultiCultural Club:  We will meet next Tuesday after school in Mrs. Xelhuantzi’s room, 825, until 4:00pm.  We will have a guest speaker presenting about Hmong culture.

MathCounts:  Once again, our MMS MathCounts team represented our school well at Rice Lake.  In the team competition, 6^th grade teams placed 1^st & 3^rd, 7^th grade teams placed 2^nd & 3^rd, and 8^th grade teams placed 2^nd & 3^rd as well.  We had many students also placed 1^st, 2^nd & 3^rd individually in all 3 grade levels.  A special congratulations to the following students for making it to the countdown round:  Allison /Xu, Xavier Finazzo, Oliver Lugo, Max Jaeger, Logan Topper and Aiden Anderson.  Aiden Anderson placed first out of all student there.  Congratulations MathCounts team on a great meet!

7^th & 8^th Grade Girls Basketball:  Our first practice will be on Monday, January 23 (3:10 – 4:45pm).  Meet in the gym and be ready to play as this is a regular practice.

YEP:  Reminder the YEP club meets every Tuesday after school until 4:45pm. New members are always welcome!

Around the World in 80 Trays:  today’s featured country is Mexico.  The meal is a beef burrito with Mexican rice and refried beans.  The burrito is made with beef and cheese. The tomato of the rice compliments the burrito and beans perfectly.
