Football: Congrats to our 8th grade football teams on their two victories last night. After beating Rice lake by only a couple of points last week, both teams showed great improvements & handily beat the same teams by double digits. Let’s continue to focus on creating the best version of ourselves and our team that we can. Go Mustangs!
UW-Stout vs Crown College Community Day: Free admission to all students Grades K – 12 on September 24th at 1pm at the Don and Nona Williams Stadium!
YEP: The Youth Empowerment Program (YEP) is a middle school group that will meet weekly after school on Tuesdays in Mrs. Duex’s room from 3:15 – 4:45pm. The program has been offered at MMS since spring 2019, and students can also participate online.
The goal of the group is to provide middle school students with drug prevention programming and opportunities to learn new skills like leadership and public speaking while making a positive impact in their communities. A secondary goal is to provide an opportunity for students to have an after-school snack, make new friends, and spend time with old ones in a fun and positive environment.
YEP members have participated in activities like creating flyers and informative videos, practicing skits to perform for elementary audiences and enjoyed group tips to Action City and the bowling alley. Where the group goes next depends on suggestions from our members (and our budget!)
The YEP Staff is looking forward to providing in=-person programming again this fall. If you know a middle school student who would be interested in joining, or have any questions about the program, visit https://yepyepyep.org/.
Core Value Poster Contest: There are still a few days left to turn your core value poster entry in to the front office. We have some amazing designs turned in already, but we would love to have more! Remember to feature all 6 core values on your poster. Be sure to spell them correctly and put your name on the back of your design before tuning it in.
SAGA: Our fist SAGA meeting of the year will be today from 3:10pm – 3:45pm. We will meet in the 8th grade white pod room 815 - Mr. Dolan’s room. Everyone is welcome!
Student Council: Join Student Council! Student Council is a leadership group for 6th – 8th graders. We meet every 2nd and 4th Thursday at 7am in the library. Our next meeting is tomorrow. Application forms are bright orange for new members and are available in the office and in each pod by the white boards. Returning members should pick up a pink sheet from Ms. Yonash. All applications are due on Friday, September 23rd.
