FCA:  We will be starting the nursing home visit right after school today.  Please have your driver bring your to Our Senior Living first.

 

Orchestra Concert:  Congratulations to Mr. Anderson and all the students for a fantastic concert last night.  Your hard work and dedication really paid off.

 

Forensics:  Please be sure to join the Google Classroom and remember you need to have your piece selected and approved by a coach.  See Mrs. Enyeart or Mr. Haas with questions.

 

3rd Quarter Sport Sign Ups:  3rd quarter sports for 7th & 8th grade girls basketball, 6th, 7th, & 8th boys swim and 6th, 7th & 8th girls and boys wrestling will be held during lunch on Tuesday, December 21st and Wednesday, December 22nd.

 

Core Value Poster Contest:  It’s not too late to turn in your entry for the core value poster contest!  The deadline is being extended to next Wednesday, December 22.  Put your design on a regular 8 ½ X 11 piece of paper and turn it in to the office.  Be sure all 6 core values are featured in your creative design.  We look forward to having many great choices in our school-wide vote!

 

Battle of the Books:  Don’t forget the first meeting for Battle of the Books is next Monday, Dec. 20th during your lunch.  If you haven’t signed up yet there is still time.  Just go to the library & put your name on the list.  You will also be able to form your own teams so grab a couple friends to join with you.  Hope to see you there!

 

Holiday Game Night:  If will be fun, there will be hot chocolate, and it’s an hour to spend with friends before holiday break. It’s ugly sweater day.  What is it?  It’s the Student Council sponsored Holiday Game Night on Tuesday, December 21st from 3:10 until 4:15.  This event is open to all middle school students.  Get your friends together and join in the fun.  There will be many activities – board games, Holiday booklets, Holiday Coloring and Holiday Minute-to-Minute games.  Don’t forget the hot chocolate with a candy cane.  The cost to attend is $2.00.  Tickets will be on sale during lunches this Thursday and Friday.  They will also be available on the day of the event. 

Don’t forget Holiday Spirit Days start this Thursday.  Thursday is comfy day and Friday is flannel day.

 

FFA:  We have a meeting this Thursday, Dec. 16th until 4pm in Mrs. Forster’s room in the blue pod. We will get our FFA shirts if you ordered one and talk about upcoming January events.

 

Yearbook:  We will meet Monday, December 20th until 4pm in Mrs. Forster’s room in the blue pod.  We will start assigning yearbook pages.

Staff:  Please send Kathy or Amanda any pictures of events the students have participated in – classroom activities, extracurricular activities, sports, or any pictures you would like to see in the yearbook. Thanks!

 

Multicultural Club:  Our Christmas and Winter Festival Party will be Thursday, Dec. 16th after school in Mrs. Lemanski’s room until 4:15pm.  Bring 5 prewrapped treats to share and a $5 gift for the gift exchange.  We will have a pinata and learn about winter festivals around the world.

 

EL Testing:  EL students in 6th & 8th grade will be ACCESS testing with Mrs. Bade today in room 418 during your EL English class.

 

Holiday Dress Up Week:  We will have a holiday dress up week beginning Thursday this week through Wednesday, December 22nd.  Please remember:  all school rules apply!

 

Thursday, Dec. 16:  Comfy – Pajama Day

Friday, Dec. 17:  Flannel Day

Monday, Dec. 20:  Twin Day – Dress up as someone else

Tuesday, Dec. 21:  Ugly Sweater Day

Wednesday, Dec. 22:  Santa’s Workshop Day – trees, elves, reindeer, presents, candy canes, etc.

Reminders:  We continue to emphasize hand washing, physical distancing and respiratory etiquette.  A friendly reminder to all students to continue to hand wash or use sanitizer in the lunch lines.  We have sanitizing stations located throughout the building in pods, entry ways, lunch lines and in classrooms.  Please stay home if you are sick or if you or a family member are waiting on a Covid-19 test result.
