Unity Day:  Tomorrow is Unity Day is a day where individuals across the country unite for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion to send a message that no child should every experience bullying.  As a way to show unity, we ask that you wear orange tomorrow to help show that Menomonie Middle School staff and students are united against bullying.

 

Clean up:  Please make sure you are cleaning up after yourself in the cafeteria.  There is a lot of garbage being left on the tables and floor.  Please take pride in your school and help out those that have to clean the cafeteria. 

 

SAGA:  SAGA Club will meet this Thursday after school in room 815.  All are welcome!

 

Baseball:  7th grade baseball players:  There will be a meeting with Mr. Slowiak in his room (717) during lunch tomorrow (Wednesday).  Please bring your gloves.

8th grade baseball players:  there will be a meeting Friday morning in Mr. Slowiak’s room 717 at 7:00am.  Please bring your gloves.

 

Cross Country:  Good luck Boys and Girls Cross Country teams tonight at Delong!  Run fast…Run hard…Go, Fight, Win!

 

Music Fundraiser:  There is still plenty of time to donate online or to collect cash & check donations for our music department.  The final day to collect donations and turn in your pledge sheet to your music teacher is TODAY!

 

Yearbook:  Yearbooks are on sale for $19 until October 29th when the price increases to $25.  Get your yearbook today by ordering online through jostens.com/yearbook.

 

Yearbook Club:  We will be holding the first meeting of the year this Thursday, October 21st after school in Mrs. Forster’s room in the 6th grade blue pod.  Any student is welcome to join the yearbook club and we usually meet once a month for most of the school year.  Come to the meeting for more information!

 

Phy Ed:  Mr. Stokke’s phy ed class please bring chromebooks to class all week!

 

Leadership Week: This week is Leadership Week!  We will be hosting a food drive throughout leadership week.  All donations can be brought to your CARES classroom throughout the week.  The donations will be given to Stepping Stones.  At the end of the week the CARES classroom in each grade that has the most donations will win a prize!  Thank you for being outstanding community leaders.

 

October is National Bullying Prevention Month. In a world where you can be anything, be kind.  We are not all in the same boat, we are all in the same storm.  Some of us are in yachts, some canoes, some drowning, just be kind and help when you can.

 

Multi Cultural Club:  We will meet today in Mrs. Lemanski’s room after school until 4:15.  Set up your ride!  We will elect officers, talk about a t-shirt design, and kick off our butter braid fundraiser.

 

Unused Sock Drive:  We will be having an Unused Sock Drive from October 18 – 22.  Please donate unused socks in the color BLACK or GRAY, preferably crew length.  A drop box will be in the front office.  Socks will be donated to Stepping Stones and then the homeless.  Please donate socks!

 

My Teacher Rocks!  Kristo Orthodontics wants to know who you think the beast teacher. We all know how hard our teachers work, especially in the times we are in right now.  Give your teacher the well deserved thank you by entering them in the “Teacher’s Dream Survival” Basket Giveaway.  The winning teacher will be given a shout out and win a Teacher’s Dream Survival Basket filled with items all teachers need and want!  Fill out an entry form and submit it to the front office by October 30th.  Forms are available in the front office.  The winning teacher will be announced November 5th!

Reminders:  We continue to emphasize hand washing, physical distancing and respiratory etiquette.  A friendly reminder to all students to continue to hand wash or use sanitizer in the lunch lines.  We have sanitizing stations located throughout the building in pods, entry ways, lunch lines and in classrooms.  Please stay home if you are sick or if you or a family member are waiting on a Covid-19 test result.
