Multi Cultural Club:  We will meet on Monday, October 18th in Mrs. Lemanski’s room after school until 4:15.  Set up your ride!  We will elect officers, talk about a t-shirt design, and kick off our butter braid fundraiser.

 

Girls Tennis:  Your Menomonie Middle School girls tennis teams completed against Eau Claire Delong and Altoona yesterday afternoon.  Team 1 completed fiercely with Delong and had some extremely close scores.  Winning doubles partners include:  Emelia & Sydney, Elsa & Mya, Tiana & Elodie, Kaitlyn & Aubrie.  Team 2 had a decisive win over Altoona 8-4.  Wining double partners include:  Chloe & Tehya, Presley & Dylan, Sidney & Hailey (still undefeated1 12-0-1), Aislin & Ave, Darla & Paton.  Congratulations to both teams!  Practice is cancelled for this afternoon.

 

Volleyball: 7th grade volleyball swept Delong last night, with M1, M2, M3 winning 4 out of 4 matches, and M4 winning 3-4.  Great job ladies!  Let’s keep having fun and winning games!  Way to play Mustang Volleyball!

 

Cross Country:  Congratulations to the boys and girls cross country teams for a great showing last night at Irvine Park.  The girls placed 2nd, just a couple points away from the win.  They were led by an impressive one-three finish by Kyah Barnhart and Danica Holcomb.  Scoring was rounded out by Alison Xu, Nora Skorczewski and Addison Schuler who finished 15th, 17th, and 20th.  Special congrats to huge personal bests by Evie Asher, Jay Beston, Serena Green, Summer Hagen, Bela Holzhueter, Emma Jacobsen, Mia Lambrigsten, Addison McKown, Ofelia Prechel, Izzy Remondino and Addy Rue.  On the boys side, they were led by Luke Ray, Logan Topper, Max Spartz, Aaron Howard and Everett Paulson who finished 9th, 10th, 12th, 14th and 21st for a 3rd place.  Special congrats to Ethan Chan who ran a three minute personal best of 16:02!

 

Student Council:  Student Council members – please fill out the t-shirt order form on Google Classroom.  Fill this out even if you are not ordering a shirt.  Orders are due Wednesday, October 13th.

 

Unused Sock Drive:  We will be having an Unused Sock Drive from October 18 – 22.  Please donate unused socks in the color BLACK or GRAY, preferably crew length.  A drop box will be in the front office.  Socks will be donated to Stepping Stones and then the homeless.  Please donate socks!

 

My Teacher Rocks!  Kristo Orthodontics wants to know who you think the beast teacher. We all know how hard our teachers work, especially in the times we are in right now.  Give your teacher the well deserved thank you by entering them in the “Teacher’s Dream Survival” Basket Giveaway.  The winning teacher will be given a shout out and win a Teacher’s Dream Survival Basket filled with items all teachers need and want!  Fill out an entry form and submit it to the front office by October 30th.  Forms are available in the front office.  The winning teacher will be announced November 5th!

Reminders:  We continue to emphasize hand washing, physical distancing and respiratory etiquette.  A friendly reminder to all students to continue to hand wash or use sanitizer in the lunch lines.  We have sanitizing stations located throughout the building in pods, entry ways, lunch lines and in classrooms.  Please stay home if you are sick or if you or a family member are waiting on a Covid-19 test result.
