Wrestling:  Congratulations to the Wrestling Team on your 2nd place win at the Marshfield Tournament this past weekend.  Great job!

 

Character Dare Week:  It’s Character Dare Week!  Today’s theme is empathy.  Students, check your email for the form to fill out when you complete a dare.  Each team’s goal is 250 dares from today – Wednesday to earn a reward Friday afternoon.  Thanks for making MMS a better place!

 

MathCounts:  A big congratulations goes out to Emmett Ogden, Ruby Rangitsch, Damien Gray, Varun Shridhar and Brian Styer for competing on Saturday.  That is quite an accomplishment to compete against the top math minds in the state.  These students represented MMS very well and we are very proud of them!

 

Dance Team Tryouts:  Are you interested in joining the 2020-21 winter competition dance team?  All current 8th graders are eligible to tryout to be a part of next years high school dance team.  Tryouts for dance team start tonight in the MHS Fieldhouse cardio room from 4-6 pm.  No dance experience or pre-registration is necessary.  Just come tonight if you would like to try out.  If you have any questions, contact coach Liz Klein.

 

National Nutrition Month:  March is National Nutrition Month!  Stop by the health office for information about how to eat right, bite-by-bite, and enter to win a prize.

 

Attendance Madness Tournament!  The winners have been crowned!  The winners are Mrs. Grubbe/Mr. Mackie, Mr. Harmon and Mr. Parsons.  We hope you enjoy your donuts this morning!  Thanks for a great week!

 

Volleyball Tournament:  Student Council is sponsoring a Volleyball Tournament.  Check out the signs around the school.  Registration will be the week of March 9th during lunch.  6-8 people per team allowed and the entry fee is $20 per team.  The tournament will take place on April 7th 3:30 – 5 pm.

 

4th Quarter Sport Sign Ups:  Sign-ups for 4th quarter sports will be during lunch on Tuesday, March 10th and Wednesday, March 11th.  Sign-ups will be for 7th & 8th girls and boys Track, 7th & 8th grade girls soccer and 6th, 7th & 8th boy tennis. 

 

Donations for Soldiers:  We are once again collecting goods to send over to Alpha Co. 1-128th soldiers who recently deployed from Menomonie.  Some of the members of this group are relatives and loved ones of students and families in the district. The deadline for donations will be Friday, March 13, 2020.  Below is a list of items that the soldiers are in need of.  This is a much shorter list than before, but please keep your donations to items on the list as it will help with the organization and mailing process.  Please turn in any donations to the Menomonie Middle School front office. We appreciate all your help in supporting our local deployed service men and women.

Gillette Razors

 

*Our goal is to reach 100 packs of each item above in order to ensure each soldier gets one
