Parent/Teacher Conferences:  Reminder to parents/guardians that we have conferences this evening from 4:00 – 7:30pm.  The first ½ of every hour are schedule conference times and the second ½ of every hour is open for drop in conferencing.  If you do not have a scheduled time, please contact your students CARES teacher.  Our next conference date is Tuesday, February 18th.

Book Fair:  The Scholastic Book Fair will be open until Tuesday, February 18th. Come and visit before and after school, during lunch, and at parent/teacher conferences. Each student will receive a raffle ticket at conferences for the chance to win a free book of your choice. Simply drop the ticket off at the book fair after your conference for a chance to win!

Spring Pictures:  Spring pictures will be on Wednesday, February 19th during CARES and 1st hour.  You may pick up an order form in the front office.  You may also order online at mylifetouch.com and use code EVTJDH4R8 to order.  Only students that bring in an order form with money or order online prior to picture day will be photographed.  We will call students down by last name.  Stop in the office with any questions.

 

Spring Volleyball League:  6th, 7th, & 8th grade girls interested in getting better or learning volleyball at a competitive level!  Practice will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Sign up meeting – parent required, February 25th at the MHS Tiered Lecture Hall at 6:30 pm.  Flyers are available in the front office.

 

Writing Club:  We will not meet this week because of parent teacher conferences.  We will meet again next week, February 20th.  Remember all are welcome.

 

Lickin’ Lips Lollipops:  Lickin’ Lips Lollipops will be on sale during lunch on Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday this week.  Lollipops are .50 cents each (limit 6 per person, per day).  All proceeds go to The Wisconsin Foster Closet.

 

Science Olympiad:  We will not have practice on Thursday this week due to conferences.  We will have practice the rest of the week.

 

Black History Month:  Sojourner Truth live from 1797–1897. She was born into slavery but escaped to freedom and became one of the most noted African-American women speakers on issues of civil rights and abolition. She was deeply religious and felt a calling from God to travel America speaking on slavery and other contemporary issues. At 6ft tall she was a striking presence, and used her powerful oratory to awaken the conscience of America to the injustice of slavery and discrimination.

Yearbook:  The deadline for ordering yearbooks is Friday, February 21st!  Late orders not accepted so do not wait until the last minute!  The cost of the yearbook is $25.  Please order online at Jostens.com or get a yearbook order form from the office.
