Multicultural Club:  We will be meeting today after school in Señora Lemanski’s room.  We will have a guest speaker and plan and international meal.  See you there!

Celebrate Black History Month:  Jesse Owens was a track and field star.  His most famous moment came in the 1936 Olympics when he won four gold medals – much to the annoyance of Adolf Hitler and the Nazi party who hoped the Olympics would be a showcase for Aryan supremacy.  In his later life, Jesse Owens became a goodwill ambassador for America and athletics.  He said, “The battles that count aren’t the ones for gold medals.  The struggles within yourself – the invisible, inevitable battles inside all of us – that’s where it’s at.”

Battle of the Books:  Battle teams don’t forget to come to the LMC during CARES today so we can plan out the next week before State Battle.

Student Council:  We will be selling yummy lips lollipops at lunch on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.  .50 per lollipop, limit of 6 per day.  Money raised goes to Boys and Girls Club and Stepping Stones.

Book Fair:  The Scholastic Book Fair will be open from Tuesday, February 13th to Wednesday, February 21st.  You can visit the book fair before/after school, during lunch and at parent/teacher conferences.

FCA:  FCA meeting tomorrow in the general music room.  Meeting is at 6:50 am and we always have donuts!

SAGA:  There is a meeting for the SAGA club on Thursday.  The meeting is during lunch in Mr. Collins’ room.

Girls Basketball:  Congratulations to our 7th and 8th grade girls’ BB teams as they had another clean sweep against EC Northstar last night.  Great job girls!

All 7th and 8th grade girls BB players:  We have pictures tomorrow.  Bring your game uniforms tomorrow.  If you have not received a picture packet, see Mr. Chumas today!
