Spelling Bee:  Congratulations to Hayleigh Husby for winning the District Spelling Bee yesterday.  Hayleigh will now move on the regional Spelling Bee on February 21.  Also, congratulations to Andrew Thompson who was the 2nd place winner.  Thank you to all the spelling participants.  It was a great evening.

Science Olympiad:  We will wear our Science Olympiad shirts tomorrow (Friday).

Forensics:  Our Level 1 meet is tonight!  Be in the choir room with your piece, changed and ready to go at 2:50 pm.  Any questions or concerns, see a coach today.

Black History Month:  Jack Johnson became the first African-American man to hold the World Heavyweight Champion boxing title in 1908.  He was nicknamed the Galveston Giant.  His 1910 fight against James J. Jeffries was dubbed the “fight of the century.”  He held onto the belt until 1915.

Multicultural Club:  We will be meeting after school on Tuesday, February 13 in Señora Lemanski’s room.  We will have a guest speaker from Kazakstan.  Mr. Parsons will help us plan our international meal.

Calling All Valentines!  FCCLA will be selling valentine cookies and crush cans to be delivered to your special someone on Valentine’s Day for $1.  We’ll be selling outside the FACS room during lunch.  See Mrs.  Kellander for more details.

Reminder to parents:  If you will be picking up your student during school hours, please send a note with your student the day of the appointment so we can issue them a class pass in advance.  We have a lot of parents showing up to pick up students without advanced noticed causing interruption to teachers and classes.  We will give your student a pass for 5 minutes before your anticipated arrival so they can be in the office waiting for you.  Also, parents are required to come in to the office and sign your student out.  Students are not allowed to leave the building without a parent/guardian.  Contact the front office if you have any questions.

GEAC World Tour!  Music, crafts, games, interactive stations, videos and displays from around the world.  Sunday, February 11th, 1 - 4 pm at the Menomonie High School Commons.  This is a free event.  Experience the world...right here in Menomonie!
