Cross Country:  Congratulations to the boys and girls cross country team for a great race last night at Delong.  The boys placed 5th, missing fourth by one point, while the girls “ran” away from the competition, claiming first place by over 20 points.  On the boys team, the boys were led by a new best 5th place finish by 6th grader Brayten Casey.  New 2 mile lifetime personal bests were run by Ben Hecker (13:13), Kevin Leach (14:59), Joey Leipnitz (15:33) and Waylon Rodgers (16:25).  The girls placed 6 runners in the top 15 to claim the victory.  Lifetime personal best was run by Ally Rue (15:29).  Overall, 41 runners ran season bests last night!  Results are posted by the locker room.

Connecting Cultures through Cuisine:  Do you want to try foods from all over the world?  If so, come to Connecting Cultures through Cuisine on October 21st from 5 – 8 pm at Menomonie High School.  There will be an international meal, music and fun.  The price is only $5 per person.  All ages are welcome.  Buy tickets today from Kevin Leach or at the Menomonie Chamber of Commerce.  No tickets available at the door.  Feel free to visit our twitter page @cctc_2017.

Multicultural Club:  Mandatory meeting on Tuesday, October 10th from 3:00-3:30 pm in Senora Lemanski’s room.  See you then!  If you have a conflict, be sure to see Mrs. Horner, Mrs. Lemanski or Mrs. Bade.

Rock-tober is also SOCK-tober:  Join FCCLS in our efforts to collect needed items for the C-s Center and Stepping Stones homeless shelter.  Imagine living through our harsh Wisconsin winter without basic necessities like socks and a warm jacket!  From October 5th – 25th FCCLA will be collecting NEW socks and new/slightly used winter gear like coats, hats and mittens.  Our community has great needs, but you can enter yourself into a raffle drawing for one of some awesome prizes!  Each article donates like a package of new socks, coats, hats, mittens, will be given a chance to enter the drawing.  Winners will be announced at the end of SOCK-tober!  All donations to the FACS room please!

2nd Quarter Sport Sign-ups:  Sign-ups for 2nd quarter sports, 7th & 8th girls swim, 7th & 8th boys basketball and 6th, 7th, & 8th boys & girls gymnastics will be held during lunch on Tuesday, October 10th and Thursday, October 12th.
