On Monday, February 6, 2023, Mrs. Shannon Branch’s transfer request to become the next

principal at Knapp Elementary School was approved. Mrs. Branch will begin her new

position in the School District of the Menomonie Area on July 1, 2023.

Shannon Branch’s educational career includes eighteen years of teaching at multiple

elementary grade levels in South Dakota, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. Prior to spending

the past three years as the principal at Wakanda Elementary School, Mrs. Branch served four years as a kindergarten teacher at Wakanda.

Mrs. Branch earned her bachelor’s degree (Early Childhood/Elementary Education) from South Dakota State in 2002, her master’s degree (Reading) from the University of Sioux Falls in 2012, and a master’s of science degree (Educational Administration) from the University of

Wisconsin-Superior in 2019.

Shannon Branch is married and has three children attending school in the School District of the Menomonie Area.

Mrs. Branch will be replacing Mrs. Kristin Humphrey, who is retiring at the end of the 2022-2023 school year.
