Hello SDMA Families and Staff,
Due to spring break and concerns related to COVID-19, school facilities in the School District of the Menomonie Area are currently closed to the public. Upon learning of increasing concerns on Friday, March 13, students were instructed to take home as many learning materials and personal items as possible. While our students and staff did a good job with this directive, there was not much time to prepare for this closing.
Therefore, the SDMA will be offering another window of opportunity for students to come to school on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week to retrieve any items that were left behind before the governor's order to close all schools begins at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18. The times available for students to come to school to retrieve items are as follows:
Menomonie High School: 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
Menomonie Middle School: 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
Downsville Elementary: 9:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. (Tuesday only)
Knapp Elementary: 8:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.
Oaklawn Elementary: 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
River Heights Elementary: 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
Wakanda Elementary: 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
In addition to any books, computing devices, and any other learning materials, it is recommended that students consider taking home any personal items (like winter clothes) and any medications located in the school office. Band students may also want to consider taking home their instruments.
For the health and safety of everyone involved, please limit the number of people coming into school buildings to the fewest number possible and please sanitize and/or wash your hands upon arrival. Please also respect social distancing recommendations by keeping a distance of approximately six feet from any staff members or other visitors you may encounter.
Thank you for helping us support ALL of the children in our school district, and please be sure that children wash their hands!
