After School Expectations:  Students must remain in the cafeteria after school unless they are with a teacher.  You are not allowed in the gyms or to walk around the school.

Annie, Jr. Auditions:  Auditions for Annie Jr. are only 1 week away!  You must register through the MMS Drama website to audition, and music and choreography is now posted so start practicing!  Any questions, see Mrs. Enyeart.

Black History Month:  Born Sarah Breedlove in 1867, Madam C.J. Walker became the first black female millionaire in the United States—and a self-made one at that.

She invented her own scalp healing and conditioning product, changed her name to Madam C.J. Walker and began selling the formula door to door throughout the South.

Walker later started a hair school, built a factory for her product, a second hair training school and a nail and hair salon. Walker died as a pioneer in what would become a multibillion dollar industry for black women in this country.

Quote of the Week:  At the end of the day, the goals are simple:  Safety and security. – Jodi Rell, former Governor of Connecticut
