Yearbook:  Order your yearbook as a gift this holiday season!  After December 21st the price of the yearbook will increase.  Order online at jostens.com.

 

Forensics:  Registration forms are due Friday if you need one, see a coach.  If you are ready to select your competition piece, meet in the cafeteria near the choir room any day this week after school.  Questions – see Mrs. Enyeart or Mr. Haas.

 

Science Olympiad:  The Science Olympiad team competed against the best schools in the Midwest Saturday at the Boyceville Invitational. Our first team finished 2nd overall, finishing just ahead of an Illinois school that has won the National competition two out of the last three years. Menomonie competitors took home a total of 18 medals. The first team won five events! Luke Mahoney and Sam Seguin won Water Quality. Hayleigh Husby and Marlena Weghorn won Dynamic Planet. Marlena Weghorn and David Ding’s glider won the Elastic Launch Glider event. Sam Seguin and Jack Falkner built their way into a gold medal in the Mystery Architecture event. Finally, Sam Seguin and Luke Mahoney won Geocaching. The team also won three Silver Medals. Damian Gray and Ethan Sapradit took home a silver medal for Amazing Mechatronics. Peter Bendel and David Ding earned second place in Road Scholar. Luke Mahoney, Marlena Weghorn and Megan Glaus placed second in Picture This. We had four third place finishers as well. David Ding and Peter Bendel placed third in Meteorology. Ethan Sapradit and Damian Gray’s planes placed third in Aerial Scramble. In Herpetology, Rylie Coleman and Caleb DeVries took home the bronze. Emmett Ogden and Shaun Kilde also medaled in Amazing Mechatronics by finishing in 3rd. Other students who took home medals included: Anne Dye, Meghan Prochnow, Emily Zukowski, Ananya Raval, Oliver Woodward, Kajsiab Xiong, Pajci Xiong, Zeke Stauffer, and Grant Burns.  A big congratulations to everyone who competed. We have a lot of work to do to keep this momentum going. We will return to our normal Monday, Tuesday and Thursday practice after school this week.
