Reminder:  Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held tonight from 4:00 - 7:45 pm at MMS.

Black Leaders of WI: 
We are sponsoring a celebration and education night, Tuesday, February 27, from 6:30 – 8 pm in the MMS Cafeteria.  All are welcome.  We will have some great food and hear from and officer and professor.

Menomonie Public Library:  The Menomonie Public Library is inviting you to do the unthinkable:  cut, tear, fold, and rip books.  At the Upcycled Book Craft Event, you can take old books and make them into something new and awesome!  You can make creations like book hedgehogs and more on Thursday, Feb. 22nd at 4:30 pm at the Menomonie Public Library.

Forensics:  Our Fall Creek meet has been cancelled.  Watch your email for information about next week’s friend and family night.

SHAKE IT TO END DUCHENE:  Zumba Party!  Saturday, February 24th, 9-10:30 am at Menomonie High School.  Check in begins at 8:30 am.  Come early, buy a t-shirt and join the pre-party.  No registration required – any donation amount accepted and appreciated.

FCCLA Snack Bar:  Don’t forget to stop by the FCCLA Snack Bar at conferences tonight!  Help support our FCCLA Regional & State students!

Yearbook:  February 23rd is the last day to purchase a yearbook!  Note that students do not have school on the 22nd or 23rd.  All orders are preferred to be purchased online at jostensyearbooks.com.  Order forms will be available during parent/teacher conferences, if you are unable to order online.  Purchase price is $25.  There may not be any extra yearbooks available in May so please pre-purchase your copy now!  8th graders, this is your last opportunity to remember your middle school years, don’t forget to purchase a yearbook by February 23rd.

Celebrate Black History Month:  Condeleeza rice was born in 1954 in Alabama.  She became the first woman and first African American to serve as provost of Stanford University.  In 2001, Rice was appointed national security advisor by President George W. Bush, becoming the first black woman (and second woman) to hold the post, and went on to become the first black woman to serve as U.S. Secretary of State.

Book Fair:  The Scholastic Book Fair will be open from Tuesday, February 13th to Wednesday, February 21st.  You can visit the book fair before/after school, during lunch and at parent/teacher conferences.
