Leadership Group:  We will be meeting right after announcements today in the General Music room.

 

Trex Recycling Challenge:  8th grade Maroon collected the most plastic bags during February.  The team with the most winning months will get an ice cream party at the end of the school year.  The scores are currently:  8 Maroon – 3 wins, 8 White – 1 win, 7 Silver – 1 win, 7 Gold – 1 win.  There are 3 months left in the challenge, so keep bringing in those clean and dry plastic bags.

 

MathCounts:  A big congratulations goes out to the MathCounts students who traveled to the State competition this past Saturday in Sheboygan, WI.  The team of Morgan Selchow, Summit Fox-Schultz, Carben Weghorn, and Patrick Schwartz competed against the top math problem solvers in the state, and ended up placing 12th out of 131 teams in Wisconsin competing in the MathCounts program.

 

7th Grade Girls Basketball:  We have an away game tonight.  Please be dressed and on the bus right after school.  If for any reason you aren’t attending the game, see Mr. Chumas.

 

Forensics:  Any Forensics students who were not at the party on Friday, be sure to see Mrs. Enyeart today to pick up your ribbon.

 

 Multicultural Club:  We will meet this Wednesday, March 8th, after school from 3:00 – 3:30 pm.  It is an important meeting!  See you there!

 

Boys and Girls Swimmers:  Your end of the season pizza party will be Wednesday, March 8th, after school in the cafeteria from 3 – 4 pm.  Please bring $3 to Coach Yonash or Coach Kellander by Tuesday afternoon.

 

Art Club:  Art Club will resume today, March 6th!  See Mrs. Brenner if you have questions.

 

Sport Sign Ups:  Sign ups for 7th & 8th grade boys and girls track, and 7th & 8th grade girls soccer will be held during lunch on today, March 6th and tomorrow, March 7th.

 

2017 Optimist International World Oratorical Contest Information:  Here is some critical information regarding the upcoming Dunn Country Optimist Oratorical Contest: 

  • All entries must be complete and sent to Diane Simon via email at [email protected] on or before April 7, 2017.
  • Along with the application, we must receive a copy of the speech, a copy of the contestant’s birth certificate as well as the application.
  • The Club Oratorical Contest will be held on April 12 at 5:30 pm.The site is to be determined pending number of entries.
  • The winners (one boy and one girl) will be sent to the Zone competition to determine those to be sent to the district contest.
  • The District Contest will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 in Oshkosh, WI at the 3rd Quarter Conference.Information will be given to the Zone winners regarding motel information and District competition start time.
  • The District Winners will receive a $2,500 scholarship!
  • One contestant will be selected to be WINUM’s entry in the World Oratorical Contest on June 15 & 16, 2017 in St. Louis for the opportunity to win an additional scholarship valued between $10,000 and $20,000.

Remember, applications need to be emailed along with a copy of applicant’s birth certificate and a copy of the speech to Diane Simon at [email protected] on or before April 7, 2017.
